I really need your opinion

I need help deciding which poem to use for my creative writing class' writing workshop. I am NOT a poet, so I am nervous about allowing others to critique it. Which is less embarrassing???

The first had to be inspired by this painting...

Wandering along in the expanse of the sands of time,
I saw myself and hated what I had become.

Ugly, Humble, Quiet, Shy, Human

The cost of a soul
trudging through the thick dessert of life without a sure step

A voice called to me past the waves of shame
that threatened to wash me away

Change.
At first it sounded almost like the wind.
Persistently it called until I took a step towards the sound.

The closer to the voice I came the stronger the wind blew
until it almost lifted me out of the difficult path I was forging.

As I walked on,
the person I had been began to bow
to the person, wonderful and new,
that I was blossoming into.
My Love Poem...
I love them most at the end of a long summer day
Faces kissed softly by the sun
Hair crinkled from braids long gone
Lips sticky from fruit faces eaten in haste
And eyes drooping as they lose the battle for rest.
While dinner is cooking and the house has grown quiet
All feeling satisfied and peaceful
After pouring out our hearts and lives into a puddle of family.
Easily loving them for being themselves.
Okay, stop laughing and tell me which one to turn in.....

I was quite impressed by the first one, but the Love Poem evoked a lot of emotion! I know, I'm no help! Either will be great!
